“J” Visa Appointments for Work/Travel in the U.S.A.
Due to the overwhelming demand for J (Work/Travel) visas this summer, the Embassy can no longer accommodate J visa applicants on a walk-in basis. J visa applicants will need to book appointments online (http://ghana.usembassy.gov/niv_application.html). In order to facilitate these applications, the Embassy has opened extra visa appointments specifically for J visa applicants.
The Embassy will continue to accommodate applicants for F (student) visas and J (study/research only) with walk-in appointments each Wednesday at 7:30 AM. Student visa applicants should apply no earlier than 60 days prior to their start date at a U.S. academic institution.
