STEP ONE:

PAY YOUR APPLICATION FEE AND SCHEDULE YOUR APPOINTMENT

PAY YOUR APPLICATION FEE

Go to Standard Chartered Bank (Liberia Road in Accra or Harper Road in Kumasi), and pay the application fee of $131(or Ghanaian cedi equivalent). The bank will give you a receipt but will NOT schedule an appointment for you. You will need the reference number from your receipt and your passport to book your appointment. Please note that MRV receipts are only valid for one year - you must book your appointment within a year of paying the MRV fee.

Please note that several changes have been made to these instructions to help prevent fraud. Read all instructions carefully. Failure to follow all instructions may result in the cancellation of your appointment without notification.

SCHEDULE YOUR APPOINTMENT

YOU MUST FILL OUT YOUR NON-IMMIGRANT VISA APPLICATION (DS-156 AND, IF APPLICABLE, DS-157) ON A COMPUTER. HAND WRITTEN APPLICATIONS OR APPLICATIONS TYPED ON A TYPEWRITER ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE, AND YOU WILL NOT BE ADMITTED FOR YOUR INTERVIEW IF YOU BRING THESE.

When you have paid the fee,
to schedule the date and time of your appointment.

  • Please select the date and time most convenient for you and make a separate appointment for each member of your family or person traveling with you.
  • Please schedule only one appointment per person. One person may not have more than one appointment at the same time. If you schedule numerous appointments, they will not be accepted and you will be turned away when you arrive at the Embassy.
  • If the date and time you want is not available, please select another date and time. In the event of an unscheduled or emergency Consulate closing on the day of your appointment, you may need to make another appointment.
  • Once an appointment is made, it cannot be cancelled. You may reschedule your appointment as often as you like up to one year from the date on your receipt, but you cannot cancel your appointment. If a year passes and you have not been interviewed, you will forfeit your visa fee and be required to start the process over again.
  • Please be careful when entering your personal information. Once you have submitted your personal information, you will not be able to modify it in any way.
When prompted, type your full name (last, then first), telephone number, email address, and the last seven digits of your Standard Chartered Bank Receipt Reference Number.

Please note: You must provide a valid email address and phone number in order to make an appointment. If you do not have an email address, please provide the email address of a friend or relative or workplace - someone who can contact you should we need to reschedule your appointment. If you do not provide a valid email address and phone number, the system will automatically cancel your appointment without any notification to you.

If you have only one name enter it in the last name field then enter "N/A" in the first name field. The telephone number or email address you provide will only be used to contact you if it is necessary to cancel your appointment.

When you've completed this step, the computer will generate an identification code and password.

BEFORE PRINTING YOUR CONFIRMATION SHEET, WRITE DOWN YOUR IDENTIFICATION CODE AND PASSWORD. YOU MUST KEEP THESE NUMBERS TO ACCESS YOUR APPOINTMENT IN THE FUTURE.

Print out a copy of your confirmation sheet to bring to your interview. This will serve as a reminder to you of the date and time of your appointment.
